Custom Ductile Iron Castings, also known as custom nodular iron or SG iron castings, are high-performance metal components tailored to specific design requirements and application scenarios. Unlike traditional gray iron, ductile iron is processed by adding spheroidizing agents like magnesium or cerium to molten iron, transforming graphite into rounded nodules that enhance ductility, toughness and strength significantly.
These custom castings boast excellent mechanical properties, combining the processability of gray iron with the engineering advantages of steel. They feature high tensile strength (400-700 MPa), good elongation (10-18%), superior corrosion resistance and wear resistance, making them suitable for harsh working conditions.
