The process of custom steel casting starts with in-depth demand docking and program design.Engineers communicate closely with customers to clarify key indicators such as the casting’s service environment,load-bearing capacity,installation requirements and service life,then formulate targeted manufacturing plans.Material selection is highly customized:low-carbon steel is selected for custom castings used in non-heavy load and corrosion-prone environments,while medium-high carbon alloy steel(such as chromium-molybdenum steel and nickel-chromium steel)is adopted for castings that need to withstand high temperature,high pressure and severe wear,such as custom valve bodies,gears and mechanical brackets.Preprocessing steps like annealing and normalizing are adjusted according to material characteristics and design requirements to eliminate internal stress and ensure the stability of the casting blank.
The core of custom steel casting lies in personalized casting and precision machining.Casting methods are selected based on the complexity,size and precision of the custom product:sand casting is suitable for large-scale custom castings with complex structures,while investment casting is used for small and medium-sized custom castings that require high surface finish and tight tolerances.After casting,rough machining shapes the blank into the basic contour,and precision machining with CNC equipment achieves the customized tolerance standards(usually up to±0.005mm)and surface quality,ensuring the casting perfectly matches the customer’s equipment.
Quality control in custom steel casting is more rigorous and targeted,covering the entire production process.Raw materials are strictly inspected to ensure they meet the customized performance requirements;non-destructive testing methods such as ultrasonic testing,penetration testing and magnetic particle testing are used to detect internal and surface defects.Post-processing is also personalized,including surface quenching,galvanizing,anti-corrosion spraying and other treatments,to enhance the casting’s wear resistance,corrosion resistance and other properties,and extend its service life.
